Ick.

These days, it's best to be especially vigilent about what you consume.

Somehow I don't think it's a coincidence that the most lucid people I know are either vegan or vegetarian. If you need one, here's another reason to drop meat:

Didn't we learn our lesson from mad cow disease (caused by cows eating other cows)? I guess not. Meanwhile, pigs given melamine-tainted feed have been cleared for the U.S. market:

Wait a minute! Wasn't melamine, an industrial chemical used to make plastics and fertilizers, the stuff in pet food linked with China that poisoned a bunch of American cats and dogs? http://www.nytimes.com/2007/04/30/business/worldbusiness/30food.html?ex=1182484800&en=ea849a09ab97d42d&ei=5070

And by the way, what's with the Chinese selling us poisoned toothpaste?

Kind of reminds me of the time they sold children's cross necklaces made of lead, causing several cases of lead poisoning here in the United States. Sometimes you wonder if they're doing it on purpose, don't you? Kind of makes you think twice about the Pentagon buying computer chips from them, doesn't it?

Please excuse my paranoid ravings. Soylent Green, anyone?
